Radio City Music Hall

Stage Door Tour

OVERVIEW

The Stage Door Tour needed a fresh brand redesign to boost sales and penetrate the heavily-saturated NYC tourism market.

The iconic Radio City Music Hall is home to the Radio City Rockettes, the Christmas Spectacular, and offers daily public tours of the legendary theatre. Ticket sales of the venue tour had been missing ticket goals, so I partnered with the marketing department at Madison Square Garden (the parent company of Radio City) to completely overhaul the venue tour branding.

THE CONCEPT

My goal was to leverage the iconic venue in my branding.

I wanted the new key art to be bright, beautiful, and really capture the art-deco design from the exterior of the building. I worked with Madison Square Garden's photo team to art direct a photoshoot and capture the angle of the exterior that I had been envisioning. With a little photoshop magic, the final exterior shot was clean, crisp, and focused on the world-famous theatre marquee. When designing the logo, I knew I had a lot of words to work with, so I formatted it in a way that would make the important information stand out: "Radio City Tour". I chose a color palette of a soft blue and a gold accent to make the different key elements stand out. With this redesign, the new Radio City Music Hall Stage Door Tour branding truly reflected the history, beauty, and grandeur of the Showplace of the Nation.
